Charlotte Trade-O-Ree May 3-4, 2024

The Charlotte Trade-O-Ree has grown over the last few years to become one of the best Scouting memorabilia trade-o-rees (think swap meet) in the southeast. Hosted at a large church in Charlotte, NC this years show will have 100+ tables full of Scouting memorabilia from vendors traveling from many surrounding states. A trade-o-ree is a chance to see Scouting history. You can come browse, ask questions, buy, sell and trade Scouting memorabilia. There is no charge for admission so please come out and bring the whole family, den or troop!

Collections & Scouting Heritage Merit Badges Available

Once again Stuart Tucker of the Apache District, Mecklenburg County Council will be teaching Collections & Scouting Heritage Merit Badges during the TOR on Saturday from 9 AM – 2:30 PM.  You can sign up for the merit badge by filling in this Google Form. Scouts may register for one or both classes. Scouts must complete pre-class homework and bring their assignments to class to earn completions at the TOR.

Collections Merit Badge class, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Floor Plan

The 2024 Edition of the Charlotte TOR will have 100+ tables available for vendors. The tables are 6 feet long and 2 1/2 feet wide (standard size). Some of these tables have been reserved for the  silent auction. Tables are available for rent to vendors that want to come display and sell their items. The wall tables are $25 each and the inside tables rent for $20. The floor plan is tentative and subject to change based on reservations.

This is an approximate map of the TOR floor space in the fellowship hall. The actual layout will probably be slightly different when we get everything set up. There are restrooms just outside the fellowship hall. The concessions will be served from the sign up table.

Vendor Reservation Information

The event is being held in the fellowship hall of Sardis Presbyterian Church. This facility is over 7000 square feet and can accommodate 100+ tables. We sold out the tables in each year we hosted the event. This event is a fundraiser for Pack 33 and Troop 133 sponsored by Sardis Presbyterian Church.

 

All TOR tables are standard sized 6 foot tables. These are available for rent at $20 each. We have a limited number of wall tables for rent at $25 each. All table rentals are secured online this year – click link to reserve a table.  If you have any questions email Jason Spangler.

 

Dealer set up begins at noon on Friday May 3 with the public invited to come starting at 3 PM. On Saturday the show wraps up at 3 PM on Saturday May 4. Concessions and full meals are available for purchase on site so you don’t have to leave the location. There are many hotels within a 10 minute drive of the show.

The church campus is pretty large. Luckily there is ample parking. The event is being held in the Fellowship Hall as marked on this map. You can park in the closest spots near the roundabout to unload. There are no steps or ramps that you will have to avoid to bring your items in – however it is a about a 25 yard walk from the unloading at the parking lot to the glass doors where the entrance to the fellowship hall is.

Lodging Suggestions

Sardis Presbyterian Church is located at 6100 Sardis Rd, Charlotte, NC 28270. The best place to find a hotel is the nice corridor where North Sardis Road meets East Independence Blvd just north of Matthews, NC. This area has multiple hotels, chain restaurants, a Wal-Mart, and even a Goodwill for you diggers out there. We have not singled out any hotel for a block of rooms because being a metropolitan city there are so many options. We do recommend the Matthews NC corridor off of North Sardis Road because of the number of hotels and restaurants in that area.

 

This area is a 5-8 minute drive from the church. There are plenty of other great options in Charlotte but this is the closest commercial district to the church that has this type of variety of options.
